Main Purpose of Job
Lead the EC& I Engineering designs throughout all study phases (Concept, Pre-feasibility and Feasibility) for various large mining houses.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
Engineering Degree (Electrical)
Pr. Eng (ECSA) advantageous
At least 5 years of Engineering design experience within Mining and Plant environments
EPC and EPCM knowledge essential
Experience with HMI/ SCADA and MES / MOS solutions

Project Scoping, Definition and Planning
Full Project Implementation (FEL1, FEL2 & FEL3 Studies)
Detailed engineering plans and cost estimations
Working closely with process management teams and coordinating technical activities

Main Purpose of Job
We are seeking applicants from intermediate to senior project schedulers/planners with specific knowledge and experience in the mining project environment. Candidates must have a deep understanding of both multi-disciplinary engineering and project management principles and practices.

PMBOK knowledge, project governance/gate approval processes with a proven track record are key. All responsibilities, knowledge and experience are dependent on the seniority of the position.

Project Schedule:
Establish, maintain and control project baseline schedule;
Make use of a Project Management System to plan, schedule and update progress;
Ensure that change control on the project schedule is applied in line with the project change control procedure;
Ensure progress reporting is performed in line with client standards;
Ensure that the project team understand the project schedule, the progress status and the schedule risk;
Ensure that progress updates are done, and reports distributed using client templates;
Provide the project manager with early warning on potential time overruns;
Participate in project meetings;
Participate in governance processes;
Assess, audit and ensure compliance to project planning requirements through bench-marking and networking.

Consultant, Contractor and Vendor Schedules:
Assist during tender evaluation by evaluating vendor/contractor schedules;
Assist with the validation and approval of contractor/vendor schedules;
Ensure that consultant detailed schedules are acceptable, correct and align with the main project schedule;
Ensure that contractor/vendor progress reports are verified and approved.

Client Project Management System:
Load and maintain schedules on the system;
Load and maintain resource hours on the system;
Participate in initiatives aimed at improving the client Project Management System;
Assist project cost controller to ensure that information in client Project Management System reconciles with the SAP cost reports;

Qualifications and experience
Relevant project management, engineering or construction qualifications and experience
5-10 years of mining project scheduler experience
Extremely good Primavera and MSProjects skills
Very good understanding of engineering and construction disciplines, sequences and interfaces
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Mining operational experience will be beneficial

Experience
5-10 years working experience in application architecture design for MES / MOS and Automation
Experience with HMI/ SCADA and MES / MOS solutions (e.g. Wonderware)
IT and ICT solution design and delivery experience
Experience in Mining Value Chain

Translate requirements into architecture design for different projects
Ensure designs adhere to architectural standards and are practically implementable
Validate solutions for quality, architectural and functional requirements
Deliver business information blueprints with Proof of concepts
Ensure all test efforts are planned, monitored and executed
Working closely with process management teams and coordinating technical activities
Provide technical guidance, oversight, coaching and mentoring to project team members
Ensure successful handover into operations (Ensure the end-to-end delivery)
